Having a handheld milk frother is a blessing for those who love tasty chocolate and coffee drinks, but not everyone knows about how to use a handheld milk frother . Most of us prefer, to try out a cup of coffee or latte, from our favorite coffee shop or restaurant. The reason behind is the taste, and the texture that they promise to give you without any efforts on your side. But it is also a fact, that you can also bring the same taste and smooth frothy texture in your coffee or chocolate drinks, on your own. You must be thinking how is it possible, right?
There can be two ways, either you will have to buy an espresso machine and use its steam wand to froth a cup of milk or you may have a separate milk frother in your kitchen. Milk Frothers can be of any type, either handheld or manual or fully automatic. Being the most handy one, we’ll be discussing the electric handheld or battery operated milk Frothers here, in this guide.
People usually feel confused when they are not sure why they should prefer one type over the other. In fact, it all depends on your needs and the way you prefer to work things out.
If you have or are interested to buy a handheld milk frother and are keen to know how you can make the most out of it, we are here to help you.
Basic steps you need to follow:
Things you’ll need:
- A warm cup of milk (use whole milk if you need better results and long lasting, smooth foam)
- Appropriate pitcher or cup
- A handheld milk frother (fully charged if battery operated)
- Another cup to pour into
That’s all!
1
Warm the milk (don’t boil or heat for a long time)
The first thing that you will need is a cup of whole milk for a smooth, frothy topping for your coffee or latte. Remember, whole milk needs more time to produce froth as compared to skim milk, but froth produced with skimmed milk will last for a short time, while whole milk gives a long lasting and thick, smooth froth and is comparatively heavier and creamy.
You will have to warm the milk, but never heat it to its boiling point as it will ruin the texture and will not be giving you a smooth frothy foam.
2
Take appropriate amount of milk
You must always pour about half a cup milk or a quarter cup into the pot that you will be using to froth the milk. It is because, during the frothing process the milk may rise to the brinks and can spill out. So, in order to avoid such accidents you should always go for a half or a quarter cup of milk.
3
Insert your frother
Insert the wand into the milk very slowly. After inserting its interior end into the milk turn it on. You should always make sure you turn it on when you have inserted into the milk, to avoid splashing of milk.
Make sure you stir the wand slowly and move it up and down smoothly, but avoid quick moves of the wand. Also, you will have to take the wand to the top to suck some air from the surroundings to give you a perfect layer of foam.
4
Working with the froth to keep it puffy for a long time
Make sure you don’t ruin the forth layer. Either pour it slowly from one cup to another or if you have got prepared a small amount of froth for one cup only, you may pour in the drink into the cup containing the froth.
All done, now you all know, how to use a handheld milk frother. You can enjoy smooth foamy milk topping on your cappuccinos, and coffee without going to a restaurant, or coffee shops and can even save your money as you will not be needing an espresso for your frothing work. Enjoy your drink whenever you need!
